The fixed equipment is closed until further notice as there are minor repairs needed. Parents are not to allow their children onto the equipment before or after school.

TRAFFIC IN CAMERON STREET

Concern has been raised about the behaviour of Carlton parents as they are picking up their children after school. Parents are regularly double parking and blocking access to traffic. The matter has been raised with the police, who are treating the matter very seriously. They have indicated they will be conducting regular random patrols. If parents are concerned, they are advise to contact the police as it is a infringement of road rules.

INDONESIAN PUPPET SHOW

On Monday, Indonesian students from Kindergarten to Year 6 watched "Wayang Kulit", an Indonesian puppet show. This was a wonderful opportunity for children to learn about Indonesia and to experience Indonesian culture. They learnt about daily life in Indonesia and saw two beautiful dances. The highlight of the show was the shadow puppets. They made the students laugh and they were amazed at the way the puppet master could make the story come to life using only his voice and shadows! Some students were able to attend a workshop where the puppet master showed students how to make the puppets. What an interesting and exciting experience!

INDONESIAN WRITING COMPETITION

Earlier this year students from Stage 2 and Stage 3 entered the state wide Indonesian writing competition organised by the Modern Language Teachers Association of NSW. All students produced a very high level of work. This year Carlton Public School had 3 successful place getters, Hannah Szwajcer was placed second in the Stage 3 category, Tabitha Roberts was placed third in the Stage 3 category, and Louisa Hamilton was placed second in the Stage 2 category. Congratulations!
