STORM
Thank you to everyone for the way you supported the school in dealing
with this difficult situation. We operated on our “wet weather” roster. This
meant that students were kept indoors all day and movement was kept to a
minimum. If you kept your child home due to health concerns, you will still
need to fill in absence note for the day.
A REMINDER FOR
ALL PARENTS
The school grounds are protected by the “Inclosed Lands Act”. This means
that all people, including parents and grandparents, are invited to do so by
the Principal. We welcome all parents and grandparents to the school site to be
involved in the many activities at the school. If any visitor comes to the
school outside of the drop- off and pick-up times they need to sign in at the
office and wear a visitor’s badge.
All parents are reminded that they are not to approach any children on
the playground, except their own. If parents are concerned about a matter they
are to talk to the class teacher or to an executive. Any visitor, including
parents, to the school who does not follow these guidelines can be excluded
form the school site for a period of time, under the Inclosed Lands Act.
KINDERGARTEN
ENROLMENTS
This year we are experiencing high level enrolments for Kindergarten in
2010. In order to prepare for Kindergarten orientation days and for staffing
next year we would ask that anyone who has not enrolled for Kindergarten in
2010 to do so now. Please remember we have strict criteria for enrolment and
students either must have a sibling in Kindergarten to Year 5 or live within
the school’s boundaries.
Don’t forget our Orientation Night, Thursday 1 October, 2009 at 7pm in
the hall. This is a very important night in our orientation process for
Kindy 2010. Parents are invited, but please leave your children at home. There
will be guest speakers who will give important information about the new school
year.
We have begun our Kindy Start program on a Monday morning. All parents
will be invited to attend a Monday session from 9-11am. Your child will also
attend a Kindy room to see a classroom in action.

CONGRATUALTIONS TO MRS CASTAN
One of our
parents at the school, Mrs Castan, is the winner of the Playgroup NSW volunteer
of the Year award. There was an article about the award in the Leader on 8 September.
Well done.
SCHOOL
PHOTOGRAPHS
School photographs have now been completed except for the whole school
photograph. We now have ten years of whole school and Year 6 photographs
hanging in the office area and they are an excellent historical record of the
school. When many of our ex-students in the photographs come back to visit, the
first thing they want to see is their photograph. We will take the whole school
photograph next Thursday 1 October. All photographs should be back in six
weeks.
